What are the dates & times of Taste of Calgary and the Market Place?

  • Taste of Calgary runs Thursday August 16 through Sunday August 19, 2012 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.
  • The Market Place will be open daily while Taste of Calgary operates.
  • Market Place vendors are expected to be there - RAIN or SHINE.
  • Market Place exhibitors must be fully operational from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm each day.

Who attends Taste of Calgary?

  • Demographics change as the event progresses
  • Thursday - Friday Audience: Business/Office workers that come in groups for lunch or after work. Groups return in the evening and stay for the entertainment. 25-55 yrs, post secondary education, mid-upper disposable income
  • Saturday - Sunday Audience: Two prominent audiences - Families and Groups of Singles. Families are younger with small children. Groups of Singles 25-45 yrs, post secondary education, middle income. Both groups stay for a large part of the day.
  • Last year 65,000 people attended this great event… and we expect 2012 to surpass last year's record crowds.

What is the fee to participate?

  • $500 plus GST for all four days ($530) prior to July 22.
  • Daily spaces are not offered.

What is provided for our fee?

  • A booth space of 10’ X 10’. Multiple booths are available.
  • A single banquet table is approximately 8 feet by 2.5 feet
  • Promotion of the Market Place area
  • A great opportunity to showcase your product to a wide demographic

What are exhibitors expected to provide?

  • All booth items including but not limited to chairs, table coverings, signage, a small tent or covering, provided it does not take up more than 10 feet of space in length and width. (100 Sq.Ft.)

What kinds of items can we display and/or sell?

  • The only items that can not be sold are food & beverage items that are meant to be consumed on site. Sales of take home type treats may be acceptable. We reserve the right to limit the number of exhibitors selling similar types of products.
  • Exhibitors interested in providing personal services (i.e. massage, henna) will be considered but are required to meet Calgary Health Region requirements. (Requirements for Personal Services at Events). Information is forwarded to applicant upon receipt of application (or can be obtained by contacting the Calgary Health Region).

Can we get access to water or power or use generators?

  • Water and power may be available in the Market Place area for $150 per 1500W outlet. Individual generators are not permitted because of community noise concerns.

What about garbage?

  • Each vendor is required to clean up the 10-foot area around their table and remove any garbage with them when they leave. (Not using the existing street receptacles).
  • There is a large garbage bin on site that may be used.
  • Taste of Calgary will refuse future participation if vendors do not remove all of their garbage!

How will I know if I’ve been selected to participate?

  • Expect to be contacted within 10 business days of your application (sooner if you apply on-line). Payment is required with your application.
  • Your space is not guaranteed until you have received official notice of acceptance from Taste of Calgary.
  • Payments not received by July 22, 2012 will result in forfeiture of exhibit space.
  • Previous performance and adherence to the rules of Taste of Calgary is considered when reviewing applications.

What happens if it rains that day?

  • Usually the weather is warm, and more often than not, sunny.
  • Please note we do not give refunds due to bad weather.
  • Taste of Calgary goes rain or shine and we expect a representative of your company to be there during the duration of the show!
  • The food and beverage areas operate regardless of the weather.
